The coronavirus has been a serious wake-up call. It has ripped us from our state of slumber and is forcing us to look at uncertainty and volatility in a radically new way. While we have all had our eye on the technological ball to see where the next big disruption would come from, mother nature has ever so forcefully reminded us the control we think we have is but an illusion. Towards the end of the year, the spread of the virus will slow and the intensity of the threat level will start to subside. The world will be hungry to restore whatever it has lost, and I believe mankind will be energised and motivated at previously unseen levels. Companies who have managed to survive the first upheaval, will find themselves exposed to previously unexperienced high levels of competition. It is possible that the enthusiasm with which we restore ourselves will result in a higher rate of attrition than witnessed during the height of the pandemic, and that more companies will fail in the post-Covid period due to the intensity of the competition. While many of our paradigms may change in the coming weeks and months, it seems that in a few instances, we were, incidentally, on the right.
Companies who took digitization to heart are having an easier time to keep their administrative and sales force productive. Coronavirus, along with required social distancing, has ushered in a new era of intense digitization, with a prerequisite for remote capabilities. This will require greater digital control over your processes and will enhance the ability for production staff to work remotely in the new Race to Digital. BluESP is ready to assist all our existing and new customers to fast track or implement new projects. We do however implore you to start the process now, and not wait until it is too late. We are uniquely placed with some of the industries most advanced AI & AR/VR capabilities and solutions.
The lockdown has afforded many of us the opportunity to have a fresh look at what is possible, not just as a matter of convenience, but as a matter of survival. If you have not yet started the process of planning your transformation to become fully digital, now is the time. BluESP’s sales and service teams are ready and able to remotely assist you. In addition, we have Online Training to assist your team to Upskill whilst in lockdown. Upon return to the ‘Next Normal’, your company will be ahead of the pack when the race starts.
Disruptions to global supply chains have large companies and countries now seeking more diversity in terms of origin of production, with a possible shift away from China as the global engine of production. This may usher in a new era of production possibilities for emerging countries, where the focus will be on the ability to remain production during periods of Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity (VUCA). We believe, however, that to fully exploit these opportunities, companies who have made the transformation to digital will have the greatest competitive advantage. BluESP remains committed to standing by our customers and assisting them face the Next Normal. While these are highly uncertain times, we wish to underline the fact that we are ready and able to partner with all those who are serious about facing the turbulence ahead and emerging stronger and better than before.
